Valley Prep students work hard to develop world class writing and illustration skills using both handwriting and computer technology. From pre-school through eighth grade, each student completes a variety of written projects each year that sometimes include art work and/or graphics to communicate their ideas. The creative process is a central part of the Valley Prep educational philosophy—this center provides a wonderful outlet for expression and expansion of each student’s ideas!
The purpose of the Lions’ Publishing Center is to provide a physical space and dedicated resources to enable each Valley Prep student to publish his/her own written work (at least one full piece) in a “bound” format each year! The Publishing Center Director, Mr. Karl Reiss, closely collaborates with all teachers in the school to provide access to the publishing resources (hardware, software and binding equipment) to complete at least one finished product each school year. This closely coordinated project, planned by the teacher(s) and supported by the Publishing Center, provides each student, the parents and teacher(s) an opportunity to trace the development of writing skills on a longitudinal basis. Through the years of enrollment at Valley Prep, each student will develop a comprehensive portfolio made up of the various projects from every year!
Note: Funds to equip the publishing center were provided by generous donations from the Paladugu family!
