Educational Philosophy
Valley Prep Experience
Our philosophy is based on four key tenets that include being student-centered, use of active learning strategies, holistic (whole person) approaches and providing a positive, encouraging atmosphere that nurtures our students.
Student-Centered means we focus on the student as a learner and employ a variety of techniques to utilize his/her primary learning style to facilitate achievement of objectives.
Active learning, hands-on strategies are emphasized to include lab exercises, small group learning, case studies, projects and a variety of strategies to engage the learner.
Holistic means that we utilize the entire combination of traditional academic subject areas (mathematics, language arts, social studies, science) with innovative instruction in Spanish, French, computer technology, music, visual arts, physical education and other extracurricular interests.
Positive and encouraging teachers and support staff members work with each child and family to make Valley Prep a happy, uplifting place.
